WHEEL Of THE YEAR CELEBRATIONS
The Wheel of the Year is an ancient calendar of the seasons and the celebrations that correspond to each of those transitional gateways. Often referred to as the Pagan or Wiccan calendar, it draws it is roots from the Celtic Germanic people who spread across Europe to the UK and Ireland where these traditional celebrations are still observed.
There are eight festivals or Sabbats within the calendar - two Equinoxes, two Solstices and four fire festivals or high holy days. Each one brings it's own qualities tied to the natural rhythms of Mother Earth and each unique with blessings and sacred energy. When we live closer to the ancient wisdom of our ancestors, with reverence and respect for the natural world, we reclaim what is innately ours - a connection to something bigger than ourselves and also something sacred within.
